MOXIE makes Oxygen on Mars!

MOXIE (Mars Oxygen In-situ Resource Utilization Experiment), a small, gold box-shaped instrument on the Mars2020 rover, Perserverance, successfully demonstrated a solid oxide electrolysis technology for converting the Martian atmosphere to oxygen on Tuesday evening, 4/20. This the first demonstration of oxygen production on another planet, helping to pave the way for future human exploration of Mars! Congratulations to the current and past HSL members of the MOXIE team: Prof. Jeff Hoffman, Maya Nasr, Eric Hinterman, Justine Schultz, Andy Liu, and Forrest Meyen!
