MVL members recognized in the NASA HRP Workshop poster competition

MVL was well represented in the post-doc and student poster competitions at the 2015 NASA Human Research Program Investigators’ Workshop which tool place this past week in Galveston, TX.

1. Brad Holschuh won first prize in the post-doc poster competition for his poster co-authored with Prof. Dava Newman titled “Mechanical Counter-Pressure Space Suit Design Using Active Materials”

2. Alexandra Hilbert was a runner-up for best student poster with “Human-Spacesuit Interaction: Experimental Results and Future Testing” which was co-authored with P. Bertrand, S. Reyes, A. Anderson, and D. Newman.

3. Kathryn Burkhart, also an HST Bioastronautics PhD grad student, was also a runner-up for the best student poster with “Combined Effect of Hindlimb Unloading and Radiation on Trabecular and Cortical Bone in Adult Mice” with D.J. Brooks, M.L. Bouxein and X.W. Mao.
