Perception Action Coupling – Athletes, Ageing and Astronauts

Abstract—This talk will examine similarities and differences in human movement performance from a perception action coupling perspective across the diverse fields of talent identification and injury probability in athletes to falls risk in the elderly and implications for movement control in prolonged microgravity exposure. It will aim to summarise work in the somatosensory space from our lab at the University of Canberra Research Institute for Sport and Exercise and the Australian Institute of Sport.
